Physical Therapist, Founder
Larry is the owner of the practice and has been in private practice since 1985. He grew up playing basketball and loves sports in general, so physical therapy is a good fit for him. He spends quality time with his patients to help them return to the activities they love to do as quickly and safely as possible.
He loves treating orthopedic and spine patients and uses a variety of techniques including manual therapy, dry needling, therapeutic exercises, and soft tissue mobilization. His manual techniques include a variety of schools of thought including McKenzie, Maitland, Mulligan, Paris, and Rocabado.
Larry received certification (Cert. MDT) in mechanical diagnosis and therapy from the McKenzie institute, dry needling certification (DN) and spinal manipulation certification (SMT). He has extensive training in dry needling including the Hobbs Masters Needling Series. As a practicing McKenzie therapist, Larry is heavily involved in patient education, teaching patients how to manage their spinal problems on their own and to prevent future episodes of pain. Larry received his B.S. degree in Biology from MTSU, and attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis for his PT degree. He is a certified clinical instructor for physical therapy students.
Larry is active in the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association and previously served as District Chairman of the Upper Cumberland District and on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association. He received the Carol Likens Award in 2016 in recognition of his exceptional service to the profession of physical therapy.
When not working Larry enjoys attending sporting events, especially football and basketball (Go Vols, Go Tech). He enjoys guitar, playing in a band, traveling, hiking, and working out at the YMCA. He especially enjoys spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. Larry is also actively involved in his church.
